Veganuary: Why Vegan Skincare Matters

Veganuary: Why Vegan Skincare Matters

Posted by Zoe on 3rd Jan 2024

Happy 2024! This year, we are supporting Veganuary by encouraging people to make the switch to vegan cosmetics. If you’re vegan curious, making small changes to your skincare routine is a great place to start.

When people think of veganism, they tend to think of what we put into our bodies and not onto it. But more and more people are opting for a vegan skincare routine for many reasons.

To meet the vegan skincare criteria, a product must not contain any animal derived ingredients. When shopping for vegan skincare, be sure to read the label and look out for official logo certifications such as the The Vegan Society, PETA or Vegan Action, or statements like 'vegan friendly', or 'suitable for vegans'.

However, just because the skincare product is vegan does not mean that it hasn't been tested on animals. To be sure that a product is not only vegan but also 'cruelty free', look our for the leaping bunny logo or statements such as 'not tested on animals' on the packaging.

It worth noting that while vegan choices provide greater provenance, not all vegan beauty products are natural. You can read more about this here.

Everything we produce at Botanicals is 100% vegan and cruelty-free. All of our products are certified organic and made with sustainable, natural ingredients.
