Is your organic skincare truly green?

I'm a great fan of ' The Beauty Shortlist' website and blog. It was through them that I came across 'WellnessWarrior', Jessica Ainscough (right). Back in April last year, Jess wrote a post titled '8 beauty brands you would think are natural... but aren't'.
In her post, Jess names and shames eight 'green washers', all claiming to be natural and organic. And points out that their products contain ingredients that are far from natural - let alone organic. The list includes such well-known names such as Aveda, Nivea and Natures Organic.
It’s champions like Fiona and Jess that are helping consumers to see through the old green washing tricks. To echo Fiona’s words: "If it’s green it’s green. If it’s not, it’s not." That’s why certification labels like the Soil Association symbol are so important. It really is the only way you can be reassured of a brand's green credentials.
What products and brands have you discovered that are 'green washing'? Let me know in the comments below.
