Blog reviews from the archives

blog-review-logo-2If you've read the previous post, you'll see that we've (I've!) been very slack when it comes to posting reviews from various bloggers who try our products. From now on, I've taken myself in hand - and the situation is going to change. Wendy and Lisa have given me little choice. It's either I pull my weight, or they've told me they won't share any more of their Friday chocolate cake!

The blog-reviews listed below date back to last July. We sent small tester samples of various products to a number of young beauty bloggers. If you write a blog - or know anyone who does - we'd be happy to supply products for review (within reason, and provided the blog is related to natural beauty and skin care). Just get in touch using our contact page.

Blogger: Little Paper Swans Products reviewed: Rose & camellia facial balm, cleansing melt, skin tonic, clay mask & skin polish Full review: (opens in a new window) Excerpt:

Facial balm: My oily/combo skin has been all over the place at the minute and I'm suffering from dry patchy skin. The facial balm is cleared up my dry skin perfectly. Even my Eight Hour Cream couldn't get rid of it!
Cleansing melt: The cleansing melt is a lovely cleanser. Simple and easy to use. I used the hot cloth method (one of my favourites) and it left my skin silky smooth and perfectly clean.
Skin tonic: The smell, oh my! So good. The skin tonic can be used as a toner or as a cleanser on a lazy day. It really wakes you up in the mornings. It is great at taking dirt off and leaves your skin feeling delicious.
Clay mask: I'm cautious at using face masks as most leave me red faced and burning! So not a good look. But this was amazing, no allergic reaction! Bonus. My skin felt to smooth and plumped it was amazing.
Skin polish: This is a face exfoliater. Great for shifting the dead skin and dirt. I loved it. Again my skin felt so nice after using it and my face was silky smooth.

Blogger: Eight for a wish Products reviewed: Mint & tea tree foot oil, Lemongrass foot scrub, Mint & tea tree foot balm Full review (opens in a new window) Excerpt:

I’ve had these products for about two weeks now, using them about three times a week, and has the skin on my feet improved? Well… I considered taking a picture, but I know some people hate feet (I don’t understand why, but hey,) so I guess you’ll just have to believe me when I say that yes, the skin on the soles of my feet is noticeably softer.
Yes, I do still have very thick, hard and calloused skin on the balls of my feet, but it’s not as hard or rough as it was two weeks ago.

Blogger: Vanity Frills Products reviewed: Rose & camellia cleansing melt, Rose & camellia skin polish Full review (opens in a new window) Excerpt:

Cleansing melt: As I was rubbing the product off with the cloth and hot water, I didn't notice any change to my skin. It wasn't until when I dried my skin with a towel that I noticed how dramatically smooth it had left my face. The product had left my face feeling very refreshed.
Skin polish: Some exfoliators have quite large 'beads' in them. The skin polish by Botanicals feels very delicate in comparison, which I personally prefer - especially if this product is designed to be used on your face.

Blogger: Sugarpuffish Products reviewed: Rose & camellia body lotion, Mint & tea tree foot balm Full review (opens in new window) Excerpt:

Body lotion: The body lotion and foot balm have pleasant natural fragrances which are in no way overpowering. This one is light and runny but easily massaged into skin. It certainly leaves skin feeling soft. My ultimate test for body products is to use them on my legs immediately after shaving. My legs are hyper sensitive and I am prone to irritation. This lotion passed the leg test, no redness or irritation to report.
Foot balm: The foot balm is nice and soft, easy to scoop from the pot and easily massages into skin. The scent is gentle and not over powering on the mint, which I personally prefer. I know balms tend to be on the heavier side but compared to others I own this is light in texture. I always think foot treatments are best used overnight. This one sinks in, does not leave a greasy residue and I am impressed with the result. I am prone to dry skin on the base of my heels and this foot balm does appear to be helping.
