Cleansing and exfoliation is the key here, removing dull skin cells to optimise the absorption and potency of your Botanicals products.
Step 1: Cleanse
You will need:
- 2x muslin clothes or organic cotton pads
- A bowl of warm water, ( ideally ceramic or glass)
- Botanicals cleansing melt ( Rose and Camellia for dry or mature skin or Chamomile and mandarin for normal to combination skin)
- Botanicals flower water
- Botanicals anti-ageing serum ( Rose and Camellia for dry or mature skin or Chamomile and mandarin for normal to combination skin)
Gently press the face with a warm (not hot) muslin cloth to open the pores and soften the surface of the skin cells. Apply a small amount of cleansing melt to the finger tips and massage into the face and neck area using small circular upward movements.
Starting at chin-level and working up the cheeks to the eye zone, then shifting along the jaw bone towards the ears, mid cheek, cheek bones. And then the same on the forehead. Sweep your fingers more gently around the eyes in a circular but outwards direction. This firm finger tip massage using upward circular movements will melt away make-up, improve circulation and decongest the skin.
Massage for several minutes for best effect.
Next take a hot wet muslin cloth and press onto the face to remove the first level of cleansing melt and debris, then rinse the cloth with hot water and wipe away the rest of the cleansing melt.
Cleansing removes the top layer of dead skin cells; however the cleansing melt does not strip the skin of its natural oils, but melts away debris, perspiration and pollution.
Eye make-up :use two organic cotton pads, apply Botanicals flower water, then add a couple of drops of Botanicals anti-ageing serum and pat together, before gently pressing over the eye area, then use a gentle outward stroking movement to remove eye make-up.
Step 2: Exfoliate
You will need:
- A bowl of warm water ( ideally ceramic or glass)
- A steamed towel
- Botanicals facial polish ( Rose and Camellia for dry or mature skin or Chamomile and mandarin for normal to combination skin)
Apply a small amount of facial polish onto fingertips and gently massage onto damp skin in small circular upward motion. When exfoliating avoid the delicate eye area, but paying particular attention to the T-zone if necessary. Rinse off with warm water.
A build up of dead skin cells cause the skin to feel rough and gives the skin a dull appearance. Exfoliating with skin polish removes the top layer of dead skin cells, leaving a glow to the skin.
Transform:
An effective facial will transform your skin and leave your skin rejuvenated.
Key to this process is the massage techniques. Firm pressure with facial treatment oil will stimulate circulation and help promote a healthy youthful glow.
Step 3 :Massage
You will need:
- Botanicals organic facial oil (Rose and camellia or chamomile and mandarin)
Warm a few drops of facial oil in the palms of your hands and cup hands above your client’s face, so they can inhale the calming aroma for a few seconds.
Place your hands in a downward prayer position on the edges of the jaw line and gently draw up across the cheeks, and temples, before changing the direction to gently make an upward prayer shape above the forehead. Draw the hands back gently across the forehead on an outward movement, before gently drawing back down to the chin and jaw line. Repeat this movement two or three times. Next extend this whole movement to include the décolleté area.
Draw the hands and fingers around the nose and higher cheeks to ensure all areas have the facial oil for massage. Finish the application of the oil by gently stroking the flat palms of your hands, one after another, in an upward movement from above the brow line to the hairline.
You can include a pressure point massage at this stage.
Simply apply pressure by fingertip to the acupressure points to activate the energy point, followed by tapping the points 6 times to stimulate the flow of energy.
Followed by using the index finger and thumb on both hands to gently pinch the jaw line.
Massage once more with firm fingertip pressure. Starting at chin-level and working up the cheeks to the eye zone, then shifting along the jaw bone towards the ears, mid cheek, cheek bones. And then the same on the forehead. Sweep your fingers more gently around the eyes in a circular but outwards direction. This firm finger tip massage using upward circular movements.
Starting at the inner brow, use your index finger and thumb on both hands to gently pinch along both brows. Then with your ring finger, lightly circle inwards under the eye from outer to inner corner. Repeat twice.
Using both middle fingers, crisscross in firm strokes up the centre of the forehead from the bridge of the nose to the hairline. Repeat several times.
Patter the finger tips across the whole of the face. Then starting at the chin and working up to the forehead and hair line very lightly and gently draw the finger tips from the centre to the outer hairline.
If you are Reiki trained allow energy to flow throughout the treatment, finishing with the Reiki hand positions for the head.
